Manchester United have allegedly earmarked Schalke 04 winger Rabbi Matondo as a backup summer transfer target if they fail to land Jadon Sancho this summer.
The Red Devils are said to be the frontrunners to sign Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho, who has enjoyed another sensational campaign with the Bundesliga giants and has been heavily linked with a move away when the summer window eventually opens.
The Manchester Evening News reports that the 20-time English champions have been weighing up alternative options if they missed out of a deal for Sancho and that Matondo is one of the targets on their wishlist.
Matondo, 19, who chalked up 14 appearances for Schalke this term, fits the bill at Old Trafford as a relatively low-risk and low-cost option amid coronavirus pandemic.
The Wales international is a regular member of the national squad under Ryan Giggs.
