Celtic centre-back Kristoffer Ajer has reportedly emerged as a transfer target for Tottenham Hotspur, according to Sporten.
With Jan Vertonghen has just a few weeks left to run on his contract at north London, the Lilywhites appears to have identified his replacement.
Ajer is on the verge to take Vertonghen’s place at Tottenham. Although the Norwegian expected to cost £20million, the fee which isn’t thought to be beyond the Premier League giants.
The 22-year-old will be looking for a new challenge after the Hopps were declared Scottish champions for the ninth successive season on Monday.
Celtic, however, are likely to keep hold of Ajer and have him under contract until 2022.
