Manchester United have reportedly taken the lead in the race to sign Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Denis Zakaria.
With the addition of Bruno Fernandes back in January, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has a wide range of options in the centre of the pitch.
However, according to Sky Sports Germany via The Daily Star, the Red Devils are considering whether to launch an approach for Denis Zakaria – who helped the club emerge as contenders for the top four in the Bundesliga table.
Although Gladbach want to keep hold of the Swiss international in Germany, it is reported that Man United will be the favourites to secure his signature in the summer.
The 23-year-old midfielder, who joined Gladbach from Swiss outfit BSC Young Boys in 2017 has since gone on to make 88 appearances.
Liverpool, Borussia Dortmund and Atletico Madrid are all said to be monitoring Zakaria’s situation.
