Chelsea have confirmed that they had issued an offer of a one-year contract extension to the centre-back John Terry.
Chelsea’s interim manager Guus Hiddink has revealed that the veteran defender has been offered a new one-year contract extension by the club’s management.
“Mariana Granovskaia and Bruce Buck met with John and his agent this week and offered him a one-year contract extension,” said Hiddink.
However, the 35-year-old has reacted to the news by claiming he needs some time to consider the offer.
The former England international post a message on Instagram: “Thanks to everyone for the kind wishes.
“The contract extension the club has offered me is a different role and I hope everyone will understand I want to take the time to consider it carefully before making a decision.”
Terry has made 703 appearances since making his debut for the west Londoners in October 1998. – has endured a mixed season, as the Blues’ relinquished their 2014/15 title with very little fight.
