The right-arm fast bowler Lasith Malinga has stepped down as Sri Lanka’s T20 international captain due to slow recovery from a knee injury.
The 32-year-old Pacer led his side at the recent Asia Cup tournament, where they performed poorly, losing to Bangladesh.
Under Malinga’s captaincy, Sri Lanka won the World Twenty20 in 2014.
