Arsenal have allegedly earmarked Manchester City centre-back John Stones as their top January transfer targets, according to The Sun.
The 25-year-old is the Gunners’ leading target, with the club’s head-coach Mikel Arteta is willing to bring in the England international this month.
The report goes on to claim that Stones would be keen on the move as he looks to regain a regular first-team football in order to earn his place in the national squad ahead of the 2020 European championship in the summer.
The centre-back, who is struggling to nail down a regular place at the Etihad, has made just six Premier League appearances this season.
The north Londoners are keen to add Stones to their defensive options after Calum Chambers was ruled out for the rest of the season with a knee injury.
