Manchester City have reportedly entered pole position in the race to complete a deal for Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar, according to Calciomercato.
The 21-year-old attacker, who came through the youth system at Lyon, has made 119 appearances for Les Gones in all competitions, contributing 20 goals and 22 assists during the process.
A number of elite clubs, including Real Madrid, are credited with an interest in the France Under-21 international, who scored five goals in 23 appearances at club level this term.
However, the aforementioned report claims, City are in pole position to sign the Frenchman either in January or at the end of the 2019-20 season.
The report goes on to claim that Juventus are also credited with an interest in the youngster who is thought to be valued somewhere in the region of £68m.
