Arsenal line up £100m bid for Julian Alvarez

Despite winning the Premier League and standing on the cusp of Champions League glory, Arsenal are already planning an ambitious summer rebuild — and landing a world-class forward is firmly at the top of their wishlist.

Julian Alvarez is the man they want. The Argentine has been outstanding at Atletico Madrid, contributing 20 goals and nine assists this season, yet has had nothing to show for it in terms of silverware. With his future at the Wanda Metropolitano looking increasingly uncertain, the 25-year-old appears destined for a move.

Atletico Slap £100M Price Tag On Alvarez

According to Graeme Bailey, Atletico Madrid are determined to keep Alvarez and have set a £100 million asking price to deter suitors. Barcelona have circled but simply cannot afford those figures. That leaves Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain as the two serious contenders.

Arsenal are ready to meet that valuation, which places them firmly in pole position.

Why Arsenal Makes Perfect Sense

Alvarez has unfinished business in the Premier League. At Manchester City, he played second fiddle to Erling Haaland — a situation unlikely to arise at Arsenal. Mikel Arteta could deploy him alongside Viktor Gyokeres or utilise him on the left wing, where he’s equally dangerous.

PSG present competition, but Luis Enrique already has Dembélé, Kvaratskhelia, and Doué forming a fearsome front three. Does he really want to disrupt that?

For Alvarez, Arsenal represents the perfect platform — and Arteta’s side have the funds and ambition to make it happen.
