Barcelona have reportedly “explored” the possibility of signing Arsenal forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on loan.
Having fallen out of favour, the Gabon international will be allowed to leave the Emirates Stadium in January.
However, while the Gunners will look to part ways with the 32-year-old striker on a permanent basis, any potential suitors are first expected to try their luck with a loan move.
According to the Daily Mail, Barca may contact the north Londoners with the view of signing the Gabonese for the rest of the season.
The Blaugrana require a replacement for Sergio Aguero, who is set to announce his retirement due to heart-related issues.
The report adds, however, that the Catalan giants may struggle to meet Aubameyang’s wages unless the Premier League outfit are prepared to reach a compromise.
