Liverpool and Manchester City lock horns over Sevilla defender Diego Carlos
Premier League rivals Liverpool and Manchester City could reportedly slug it out over the summer for the Sevilla defender Diego Carlos.
Both sides are believed to be in the market for a new centre-back ahead of the 2020-21 campaign and the Brazilian has supposedly caught their eye.
The 27-year-old defender joined Sevilla from Nantes last summer and has since gone on to make 35 league appearances for the Spanish outfit.
Carlos has a contract at Seville until the summer of 2024, but the South American is believed to have a €75m release clause in his deal.
According to The Daily Star, the Reds and City may now go head to head for the centre-back in this summer’s transfer window.
However, the Premier League duo could face fierce competition from Barcelona, who have also expressed an interest.
