England opener Jason Roy has joined the Perth Scorchers for the upcoming edition of the Big Bash League.
The 30-year-old batsman has put pen to paper to join the Scorchers for BBL10.
The World Cup winner has played 35 T20 Internationals and 93 ODIs for England.
“I spoke to Liam a bit about it and Mitch Marsh when he was over with us, they spoke really highly of the atmosphere and the way the boys go about their cricket,” Roy said.
“It just seems like a nice environment to be a part of. I put some feelers out there and luckily got a nibble.
“I was very proactive and (I’m) stoked that I was picked up by Perth.”
Roy will join compatriot Liam Livingstone who confirmed his return to the club last week.
The Scorchers’ first match of the season is scheduled on December 3.
