Ravi Bopara joins Sussex
England county club Sussex Cricket has announced the signing of Ravi Bopara from Essex.
Former England all-rounder has ended an 18-year association with Essex to join Sussex.
The 34-year-old said he has a “burning desire to achieve greater things”, but will focus more on playing T20 cricket.
“I want to emphasise that I am not giving up red-ball cricket but I will, for now, play less of it to find time to up-skill in T20,” he said after completion of his Sussex move.
“[I want to] take my game to a new level as I still have a drive to play international cricket.”

He has been an integral part of the Essex teams that have won two of the last three Specsavers County Championships.
Bopara scored 11,148 first-class runs for Essex at 42.06 average, and played 499 matches across all formats.
