Liverpool interested in signing Timo Werner from RB Leipzig
Liverpool have reportedly outlined their intentions to move for Timo Werner from RB Leipzig, according to German outlet Bild, as quoted by Metro.
The 18-time English champions could make a move to sign the Germany international if he rejects a new contract with the German club.
Leipzig are “desperate” to keep hold of the 22-year-old forward but he has yet to sign a new contract, with his current deal is set to expire in 2020.
The report goes on to claim that the Merseyside giants are now keeping close tabs on Werner’s situation and could land the forward for just £36million if he opted not to extend his contract with the Bundesliga outfit.
It is understood, Leipzig would likely rather cash in on Werner this year rather than losing him for nothing at the end of next season.
Werner has impressed with the Germans this term as he scored 11 goals and made two assists in 17 league appearances for the club.
