David de Gea on the verge of signing Man United contract
David de Gea has reportedly indicated that he is prepared to stay on at Manchester United by signing a new long-term deal.
The 28-year-old has been involved in a contract standoff with the Red Devils for a number of months, forcing the club to automatically trigger a one-year extension.
De Gea is therefore tied down until the end of next season, but United may have to cash in later this year or they run the risk of losing him for nothing.
However, The Sun reports that the Spanish goalkeeper has informed his close friends that he is happy to commit to the Premier League giants.
An offer of £350,000 a week will be enough to put the transfer saga to bed, it is claimed, which is still substantially less than United are paying flop forward Alexis Sanchez.
De Gea was at fault for Arsenal’s opening goal in Sunday’s 2-0 loss at the Emirates Stadium.
