Tottenham Hotspur have emerged as rumoured suitors for Napoli central midfielder Amadou Diawara, according to CalcioNapoli24.
Spurs are yet to make any new acquisition during the mid-season transfer window and although manager Mauricio Pochettino has publicly insisted that he is not desperate for new signings, the Argentine boss remains watchful of potential targets.
It is understood that Pochettino is a great admirer of Diawara and is allegedly prepared to splash as much as £33million in order to sign the Guinea youngster.
The 20-year-old has made just seven starts in the Italian league and the Champions League this season, but the defensive midfielder is regarded as one of the best prospects in Europe.
Diawara can play a box-to-box role as Mousa Dembele, but with just one senior goal under his belt, the youngster may receive the same criticisms about not offering enough in the final third.
