Atletico Madrid eye Zlatan Ibrahimovic move
Atletico Madrid are mulling over a January move for the veteran forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
The Swede, who scored the impressive 28 goals in 46 appearances for Manchester United last season, but he missed the end stages of the 2016-17 campaign after picking up a serious knee injury.
Jose Mourinho’s side have opted to not to renew the striker’s contract for a further 12-months, although Ibrahimovic will continue his rehabilitation with the Red Devils ahead of a return at the start of 2018.
A new short-term contract with United has not been ruled out once the 35-year-old fully recovers, but according to Marca, the Spanish giants Atletico Madrid are also considering to offer him a short-term contract once their transfer ban has been lifted.
Ibrahimovic has also been heavily linked with a move to the Major League Soccer, with LA Galaxy said to be interested in the player’s signature.
