Inter looking at Man United defender Matteo Darmian
Inter Milan manager Stefano Pioli is hoping to make Manchester United’s full-back Matteo Darmian is first signing when the transfer window reopens in January, according to Gazzeta dello Sport.
The Italy international found himself out-of-favour during the opening months of the ongoing season at Old Trafford, with Antonio Valencia being preferred at right-back.
Darmian, 26, who started United’s last two league games and has been deemed surplus to requirements.
Darmian has played down rumours linking him with a January move away from the Old Trafford, but Gazzetta dello Sport suggesting that Nerazzurri are still interested in the full-back.
The report adds that the Series A outfit will look to sign Darmian on loan this new year with a view to make the move permanent in the summer.
Barcelona, Juventus and Napoli are also been linked with a move for the defender, who was signed by the Red Devils from Torino last summer, having previously spent time with Milan, Padova and Palermo.
