Australian fast bowler Pat Cummins is hoping to return for the ICC World Twenty20 tournament to be played in India next year following his latest injury woes.
The 22-year-old, who has been ruled out of the upcoming Test tour of Bangladesh due to a stress fracture in his back. The injury has also ruled him out of this year’s Big Bash League for Sydney Thunder.
Meanwhile, Tasmanian all-rounder James Faulkner has been appointed as Cummins’s replacement.

“A stress fracture is a long injury,” the New South Welshman said.
“The goal I’ve set in my head at the moment is the World T20 early next year, but it’s all a long way away.”
The ICC World T20 will be held in India between 11 March – 3rd April, meaning the right-arm speedster is set to miss Aussie’s summer cricket schedule at home and the tour of New Zealand in February.
