Manchester City have reportedly stepped up their interest in signing the highly unsettled Schalke midfielder Leon Goretzka next summer, reports The Sun.
The Germany international is one of the most highly sought-after players in Europe at the moment and the Premier League giants, have reportedly joined the race, which includes top-six rivals such as Arsenal and Liverpool.
Goretzka’s current contract with the Bundesliga outfit expires at the end of this season and the 22-year-old midfielder has been reluctant to extend his stay at the Veltins Arena.
It clearly suggests the fact that the youngster is adamant to make the next big step in his career, which could be the most crucial one for him as well.
City could set a perfect destination for Goretzka to grow at, with the Premier League leaders have done incredibly well this season, dropping just two points in 13 matches so far this campaign.
