Liverpool lining up move for Exequiel Palacios

Liverpool interest in Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Exequiel Palacios signals their intent to bolster midfield depth after missing out on key targets in the summer.

The Argentine World Cup winner has impressed with his versatility, excelling in both defensive and advanced midfield roles. Having been pivotal in Leverkusen’s unbeaten Bundesliga title-winning campaign last season, Palacios has attracted significant Premier League attention.

While Liverpool view Palacios as a solid alternative to Martin Zubimendi, they face stiff competition from Arsenal and Chelsea. Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal, despite signing Mikel Merino, are keen on adding depth, and Palacios’ ability to adapt could suit their system.

Chelsea, though well-stocked in midfield, could use the Argentine’s experience to complement their youthful options.

With over four years left on his contract, Palacios’ availability might require a sizeable offer. However, his Premier League suitors will hope his skillset translates well to England’s top flight.
