AC Milan are actively pursuing Armando Broja this summer to strengthen their striker options alongside Olivier Giroud.
Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Milan are competing to secure Armando Broja from Chelsea before the transfer window closes. Manager Stefano Pioli aims to acquire a striker who can complement and support Olivier Giroud, as their current choices are deemed unfit for the leading role.
Broja’s progress in West London has been hindered, including a significant injury last season, subsequent to signing a prolonged contract at Stamford Bridge. Despite his promising performance at Southampton the previous season, his development was stymied. Although he’s on the mend, Broja may begin the season low in Chelsea’s pecking order, with Nicolas Jackson currently leading the attack.
While interest in Broja persists, particularly from West Ham United, the probability of Chelsea’s 21-year-old homegrown talent departing on loan or permanently remains slim. AC Milan have expressed interest in Broja, favouring a potential loan arrangement with an option to buy. Milan’s pursuit stems from their need for additional striking support for Olivier Giroud.
AC Milan explored various options such as Divock Origi and Ante Rebic, but failed to achieve desired results. Their new signing, Noah Okafor, appears more suited to a wide position. While AC Milan may tentatively approach Broja, his departure from Chelsea remains unlikely. Chelsea may prioritise integrating him into their long-term plans.
