Aston Villa have reportedly “explored” the possibility of signing Hakim Ziyech from Chelsea, as the 29-year-old attacker seeks a move away from Stamford Bridge.
The Morocco international is said to be ready to leave the Blues for a fee of around £20m, and it is hoped that the midfielder will help bolster the clubs’ attacking nous.
It had been reported that Juventus had been interested in a move for Ziyech, but the playmaker has indicated he would be happier staying in the Premier League for the time being.
The West Londoners had hoped to use the Moroccan as a makeweight in a deal to sign Adrien Rabiot from the Italian giants.
With the World Cup just around the corner, Ziyech has expressed his desire in returning to the international fold. Previously, the attacker retired from international duty but rumours suggest he is ready for a return.
The former Ajax attacker has made 49 appearances for Chelsea since his move from the Dutch outfit in 2020.
