Aston Villa are mulling over a summer move for Marseille midfielder Boubacar Kamara.
The Frenchman has proven himself to be a key player in Marseille’s bid to qualify for next season’s Champions League.
However, Kamara has less than a year left to run on his contract, the 22-year-old playmaker has effectively been performing in the shop window ahead of a move to a bigger club.
While Manchester United are said to be long-term admirers of the France international, RMC Sport suggests that Aston Villa are ready to act as rivals for the midfielder’s signature.
The report adds that Villa boss Steven Gerrard personally made the trip to watch Kamara in action on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid are also said to be interested in signing Kamara on a free transfer.
