Inter Milan and AS Roma will reportedly go head to head for the signature of Manchester United centre-back Chris Smalling in this summer’s transfer window.
The 30-year-old defender has impressed on loan with Roma in Serie A this term, contributing three goals and two assists from 37 appearances in all competitions.
Giallorossi head coach Paulo Fonseca is supposedly still looking to strike a permanent deal for the centre-back, but the Italian outfit’s efforts have been hampered following their failure to qualify for the UEFA Champions League.
According to Sportmediaset, Inter manager Antonio Conte is also eyeing up a swoop for the England international, whose current deal at Old Trafford set to expire in 2022.
Manchester United will reportedly allow Smalling to leave the club for a fee of £23m.
