Manchester United are closely monitoring the rise of Martin Odegaard who plays for Real Sociedad, on loan from Real Madrid.
The Red Devils had scouts present to watch the 21-year-old midfielder during Sociedad’s 3-0 victory over Valencia on Saturday.
The Norway international has scored four goals and provided five assists in Spain’s top-flight.
A report earlier this month suggested that Madrid plan to use the youngster as a direct replacement for Luka Modric next season.
However, El Diario Vasco claims, Manchester United are lining up a swoop for the attacker, a compatriot of manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Odegaard still has three-and-a-half years left to run on his Madrid contract.
