Man Utd interested in Brentford’s Michael Kayode

Manchester United are reportedly accelerating their pursuit of Brentford right-back Michael Kayode as they prepare for life after Diogo Dalot, according to TEAMtalk.

The 21-year-old Italian has been turning heads since arriving at the Gtech Community Stadium from Fiorentina in January last year. What started as a loan move quickly became permanent, and Kayode’s already proving he belongs at the top level, helping the Bees push for European qualification this season.

Transfer Battle Heating Up

With Dalot linked to an exit, United have intensified their scouting of Kayode ahead of a potential summer swoop. But they’ll face stiff competition—Manchester City are lurking as an alternative to their primary target Valentino Livramento, while Newcastle view Kayode as the perfect Livramento replacement should they lose him.

The situation gets even more complicated with Real Madrid, PSG, and Bayern Munich all monitoring the youngster’s progress. Brentford, holding all the cards with Kayode contracted until 2030, have slapped a hefty £50m-plus price tag on their prized asset.

Why Kayode Makes Sense

The former Fiorentina defender ticks plenty of boxes—pace, physicality, aerial prowess, and dangerous delivery from wide areas. His long throw-ins add another dimension, whilst his comfort playing out from the back fits modern full-back requirements perfectly.

At just 21, Kayode remains a work in progress, but that’s exactly what makes him an intriguing prospect for United’s rebuild. Whether the Red Devils can fend off Europe’s elite to secure his signature remains the summer’s burning question.
