Manchester United keen on Miguel Gutierrez
Manchester United’s pursuit of Girona’s Miguel Gutierrez is heating up. According to Spanish journalist Rodra P, the Red Devils have enquired about the 22-year-old full-back, who has a release clause set at €35 million.
Since joining Girona in August 2022, Gutierrez has flourished, particularly shining in the 2023/24 season with two goals and nine assists in 40 appearances. His performances have not gone unnoticed, drawing interest from high-profile clubs across Europe, including Manchester United.
The interest from Man United is understandable. The club struggled with injuries in the left-back position last season, with Luke Shaw sidelined for months and Tyrell Malacia missing the entire campaign. Gutierrez presents a promising solution to this problem.
However, Real Madrid’s potential interest could complicate matters for United. If Los Blancos opt to re-sign Gutierrez, leveraging an €8 million buyback clause, the young defender might head back to Santiago Bernabeu instead. As the summer transfer window approaches, it remains to be seen if the Mancunian giants can sway Gutierrez to choose Old Trafford over a return to his boyhood club.
