Aston Villa keen on signing Exequiel Palacios

Aston Villa led by Unai Emery is eyeing a major addition to their squad with a keen interest in Bayer Leverkusen’s 25-year-old star Exequiel Palacios.

The Argentine midfielder has been in outstanding form this season, drawing attention from various European clubs.

Palacios, who rose through the ranks at River Plate before joining Bayer Leverkusen, has become a stalwart in their midfield, amassing 108 appearances and contributing to 20 goals since his move. His standout performances this season, including seven goal contributions, have made him a sought-after talent.

Aston Villa, looking to strengthen their squad under Emery’s management, are reportedly keen on acquiring Palacios in the upcoming summer transfer window. Having established connections with Bayer Leverkusen through previous signings like Leon Bailey and Moussa Diaby, Villa is expected to leverage these relations to facilitate the move.

However, securing Palacios won’t come cheap, as Leverkusen are reportedly adamant about not letting him go for less than €60 million. Despite the financial hurdle, Emery sees the Argentine as a crucial addition to provide a strong foundation for Villa’s attacking prowess.
