Liverpool have reportedly placed emphasis on signing Red Bull Salzburg and Croatia midfielder Luka Sucic in this summer’s transfer window.
The 20-year-old midfielder has made 15 appearances for Salzburg, who are currently leading the league standings by nine points. However, the youngster is presently out of action due to a knee injury.
The Croatia international was a key player of Zlatko Dalic’s squad that advanced to the World Cup semi-finals in Qatar last year.
According to the Liverpool Echo, the Reds are keen on acquiring Sucic’s services, as the club aims to rebuild its midfield during the summer transfer window.
The report adds that the Croatian has been given the nickname of the ‘new Luka Modric’ and has an £18m release clause in his contract with Salzburg.
Sucic’s injury may sideline him for the remainder of this season. However, Salzburg are optimistic about his recovery and is targeting May for his return to action.
