Everton to sign Duvan Zapata

Everton and Atalanta in talks over January transfer of Duvan Zapata, according to Goodison News.

The Toffees are in talks with the Italian club to secure the services of the Colombian in the current transfer window.

Zapata has a wealth of experience in Serie A, having joined Napoli in 2013. The 31-year-old has since played for several Italian clubs and has been with Atalanta since 2020.

He has been a goal-scoring machine for Atalanta, with 80 goals and 40 assists in 174 appearances.

However, the Colombian has struggled for goals this season, scoring just once in 12 appearances across all competitions. But, Frank Lampard’s side nevertheless are in negotiations to take him to the Premier League this month.

The Merseyside club are currently in the 19th spot in the Premier League. Hence there is no surprise that Lampard is in the market for a new frontman this month. Everton’s plan is to take Zapata on loan for now, with the option to make the move permanent in the summer.
