Chelsea and Arsenal will need to pay £80 million to secure the signing of Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Although the London giants have shown interest in the Ecuador international back in January, Brighton & Hove Albion refused to allow his departure at that time.
However, Chelsea and Arsenal are planning to approach the club again in the summer, but according to Sky Sports, they will have to pay a higher fee in order to acquire Caicedo’s signature.
Earlier this year, Brighton & Hove Albion convinced Caicedo to sign a new long-term contract, and now they are holding out for a minimum of £80 million.
In addition to the base fee, the Seagulls may also request additional bonuses, potentially raising the total cost of the deal to £100 million with add-ons.
As it stands, Arsenal may have an advantage over Chelsea in the race to sign Caicedo, thanks to their qualification for the Champions League.
While Caicedo has yet to finalise his future plans, Teradeportes reports that he has already reached an agreement with Arsenal.
