Aston Villa lining up move for Pau Torres
Aston Villa reportedly remain undeterred in their efforts to sign Villarreal defender Pau Torres, who is valued at £55 million.
Torres has enjoyed a terrific season with the Yellow Submarine in recent season and could be a valuable addition to Villa.
According to Rudy Galetti, the Midlands club are weighing up a summer move for the Spaniard.
Under the guidance of Unai Emery, Villa have made significant improvements and are aiming to take the next step in their development. Currently, they are striving for European qualification and are eager to build on their success next year. Strengthening their defence with high-quality reinforcements would be beneficial and signing a centre-back would contribute to their further improvement.
Torres would be an upgrade over Tyrone Mings and could form a strong partnership with Ezri Konsa at the heart of Villa’s defence.
It appears that other clubs, such as Juventus and Tottenham Hotspur, are also interested in signing Torres. Therefore, it remains uncertain whether Aston Villa can act swiftly and secure his services. Tottenham Hotspur, in particular, are in need of a reliable partner for Cristian Romero, and Torres could be an excellent option for them.
Torres has previously been linked with a move to the Premier League, and his technical skills and quality make him well-suited to thrive in the English football.
