Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips has reportedly emerged as a transfer target for Aston Villa.
Villa head coach Steven Gerrard is said to be in the market to make wholesale changes to his squad after losing 10 of his first 20 games in charge.
The English manager is expected to be provided with significant funds to strengthen his squad, and the Midlands outfit already considering whether to take up their option on Barcelona playmaker Philippe Coutinho.
According to The Telegraph, Villa hold a strong interest in Phillips, whose current deal isn’t set to expire until the summer of 2024.
The report adds that Aston Villa are prepared to spend as much as £60m to sign Phillips, a figure that the Yorkshire giants may have to consider if the England international bides his time before making a decision over his future.
The 26-year-old has scored one goal in 16 appearances for Leeds in all competitions this season.
