Man United step up Samuel Umtiti pursuit
Manchester United have reportedly stepped up their interest in Barcelona centre-back Samuel Umtiti, according to Spanish media outlet Sport.
The Red Devils are planning to make a big push to sign the 26-year-old defender during the next summer transfer window.
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has identified Umtiti as a long-term partner for Harry Maguire in starting XI.
Man United’s arch-rivals Arsenal are also long-term admirers of the Frenchman following his impressive performances for Lyon and Barcelona.
The report goes on to claim that the Gunners are also thought to be in the market to sign a new centre-back given the club’s poor performances at the back.
It is understood, Barca are eager to sell Umtiti to raise funds to re-sign Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar.
