Man City: Kevin De Bruyne close to five-year contract extension
Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne is close to signing a new five-year contract at the Etihad Stadium.
The Belgium international joined the Premier League giants from Wolfsburg in 2015 and has since gone on to make 227 appearances for City in all competitions, contributing 58 goals and 90 assists in the process.
The midfielder’s existing deal with City is due to run until June 2023, but according to the Daily Mail, the Belgian is set to put pen to paper on a new and improved £300,000-a-week deal at Manchester.
The report adds that Pep Guardiola’s side have made ‘strong progress’ on discussions over a new five-year deal, aiding suggestions that the playmaker will finish his career at the Etihad Stadium.
De Bruyne has scored one goal and provided one assist in three Premier League outings this season.
