Arsenal sign 25-year-old stopper Runar Alex Runarsson

Arsenal have announced the signing of Runar Alex Runarsson from French club Dijon to act as back-up for first choice Bernd Leno.

Runarsson pens on a four-year contract, joining the Gunners in the wake of Emiliano Martinez’s departure for Aston Villa.

The deal is reported to be worth around £1m.

The Iceland international could be in line to make his Arsenal debut in the Carabao Cup clash with Leicester on Wednesday.

Runarsson, 25, joined Dijon in July 2018 and made 13 appearances last season.
