Tottenham to join race for Maxi Gomez?
Tottenham Hotspur have emerged as rumoured suitors for Celta Vigo forward Maxi Gomez, according to El Pais.
Spurs head-coach Mauricio Pochettino failed to make a single signing during the summer, but the Argentine boss is expected to be active in the January transfer window.
The report claims that the north Londoners could look to strengthen their options in the mid-season with an approach for in-form Gomez – who has already scored six goals and registered four assists in 10 La Liga outings this season.
The 22-year-old striker would provide strong competition for Tottenham’s number one Harry Kane.
Bundesliga outfit Borussia Dortmund are also said to be monitoring the rise of the Uruguayan, who has a contract at Celta Vigo until 2022.
