Arsenal join Hector Herrera race?
The Premier League giants Arsenal have reportedly taken the lead in the race to sign FC Porto midfielder Hector Herrera.
The Mexico international, who was in action for his nation at the 2018 World Cup, has appeared in almost 200 appearances for the Portuguese giants since a move from Pachuca in 2013.
Herrera’s current deal is set to expire at the end of the season, however, and it is understood that the midfielder will move on a free transfer next summer.
Tottenham Hotspur have recently been linked with a move, while Spanish giants Real Madrid are believed to be in the hunt for the services of 28-year-old playmaker.
However, according to Corriere dello Sport as quoted by The Sun, the Gunners are also monitoring the Herrera’s situation with the view to signing him next year.
The north Londoners will attempt to record their third straight Premier League win when they visit to Newcastle United on Saturday afternoon.
