Report: Carl Jenkinson on Swansea City radar
Swansea City have reportedly “explored” the possibility of signing Arsenal right-back Carl Jenkinson in the final days of the summer transfer window.
The 25-year-old defender has been deemed surplus to requirements at the north London outfit for some time and almost completed a move to Crystal Palace in January.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is keen to offload a number of players ahead of the new season in order to free up funds for new signings, with the likes of Jenkinson, Chambers, Debuchy, Wilshere and Kieran Gibbs all believed to be on the radar for offload.
The Mirror reports, Jenkinson is one of The Swans’ top targets and could even move to Liberty Stadium on a loan deal.
Jenkinson has also reportedly been on the radar of Newcastle United and Brighton & Hove Albion, as well as the Italian sides Cagliari, Sassuolo and Hellas Verona this summer.
Jenkinson, who represented both England and Finland at youth international level – joined the Gunners from Charlton Athletic in 2011 and has since gone on to make 38 league appearances for the north Londoners.
