Liverpool want Bundesliga defender Niklas Sule?

The Merseyside outfit are currently in talks with the Bundesliga club about a possible move for Hoffenheim defender Niklas Sule, according to German newspaper Bild.

Liverpool are determined to strengthen their defensive options this summer as their manager Jurgen Klopp looks to provide much needed strength among his ranks.

The report suggest that Sule has been identified as an potential signing, with the Reds are said to have enquired about his availability.

The German centre-back has been a regular for Hoffenheim this season, featuring in every one of their 27 Bundesliga outings. He is currently under contract until 2019, and recently hinted at a move to the Premier League.

He told Bild: “England is sometimes appealing because the physical style of play suits me.”

Having represented Germany at youth level but he is yet to earn his first senior cap for the national side.

The report claims the Reds could face a stiff competition from Wolfsburg who have also been keeping an eye on the 20-year-old defender.

If we see the history, Liverpool have raided Hoffenheim, with Roberto Firmino completing his move to Anfield in the last summer.

The German coach Klopp has already identified one defensive addition to his ranks for next season with Joel Matip, who will leave Schalke 04 at the end of the current campaign.
