Cristiano Ronaldo’s side Portugal will battle it out with France in the Euro 2016 final after the hosts beat world cup winners Germany 2-0 on Thursday evening.
The final between two team will be played at Stade de France in Saint-Denis, with the host nation looking forward to complete a hat-trick of tournament wins on home soil.
With Antoine Griezmann heroic performance with two goals against Germany, France are fancied to beat Portugal on Sunday.
The two time European Champions – Didier Deschamps’ men will be look out to their fourth major tournament in front of their home soil.
The kick-off is scheduled for 8:00 pm UK time.
The tourists had already secured their place in the final game after beating Wales 2-0 on Wednesday. It seems like the Portuguese manager Fernando Santos got his tactics right so far in the tournament. The recent win against Welsh outfit is also Portugal’s first ever triumph in this championship under the 90 minutes.
Portugal have never tastes a major tournament victory in their history, finished as runners-up in 2004 after losing to Greece and they were also semifinalists on three occasions in 1984, 2000, 2012.
Portugal expected line-up:
Rui Patricio – Guerreiro, Pepe, Fonte, Soares – Mario, Sanches, Danilo, Silva – Nani, Ronaldo.
France expected line-up:
Lloris – Sagna, Umtiti, Kolscielny, Evra – Matuidi, Pogba – Sissoko, Payet, Greizmann – Giroud.
The hosts are certainly the favourites among the pundits to win this Euro 2016, I also reckon this match might not be decided in 90-minutes, we are likely to witness extra time and maybe penalties to decide the winner.
