Roy Hodgson is due to name a preliminary 23-man squad for the summer tournament on Thursday, and he may look to Theo Walcott, Michail Antonio, Andros Townsend, Marc Albrighton or Wilfried Zaha for more attacking options on the wing.
Sunderland manager Sam Allardyce recently gave his opinion to consider Jermain Defoe for the European Championship this summer to be held in France.
