Chelsea are reportedly lining up a January swoop for Manchester United right-back Matteo Darmian.
The Italy international impressed during his first campaign at Old Trafford, but has not been able to made a single appearance under Jose Mourinho, who preferred Antonio Valencia on the right side of the defence.
The Serie A champions Juventus have been linked with a loan move for the 26-year-old, but according to Calciomercato.it, the west Londoners are also look out for Branislav Ivanovic’s replacement.
The report adds, Darmian is likely to be allowed to leave the club in the January transfer window, with Chelsea’s manager Antonio Conte one of a number of managers desperate to sign him.
Darmian, whose current contract is valid until the summer of 2019, could make his first appearance in Thursday’s Europa League face off with Dutch side Feyenoord.
