Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur are closely monitoring the rise of Lorient youngster Matteo Guendouzi, according to Sky Sports News.
The 18-year-old defensive midfielder has allegedly been shortlisted as an ideal replacement for Spurs midfielder Mousa Dembele, who will be entering into the final 18 months of his contract.
The Frenchman Guendouzi, who is a part of his country’s Under-20 set-up, is on the books at the Ligue 2 outfit and is also thought of fondly by Premier League giants Manchester City.
Guendouzi has made eight appearances last term and has established himself in the club’s first team this season.
Tottenham Hotspur are also said to be interested in Geoffrey Kondogbia from Inter Milan.
